Application Procedures for Scientific Activity to be recognized as FCAA

1.
Apply to the Secretary of CME/CPD Committee, to include an activity as formal college approved postgraduate meeting and earn CME/CPD point(s).
2.
Enclose a scientific program which should include: Title of the activity, Venue(s), Schedule, Organizing society/association/organization(s), Duration of the meeting(s), Speaker(s), Lecture topics, target audience, and any previous application to the College of the same activity.
3.
Provide name, title and address of the applicant who shall be a member of the organizing committee. Commercial applications will not be accepted.
4.

Send the application to the HKCOS Secretariat at least one month prior to the scientific meeting.
You can submit your application to the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons
by mail to: Room 905, 9/F, HKAM Jockey Club Building, 99 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong or by fax: 2873 4077. For enquiries, please contact 2871 8722.

5.
The secretariat will acknowledge receipt within one week, and the CME/CPD Committee will vet the application as soon as possible. In the usual applications, the applicant will be notified of the result after 14 days of acknowledgement of receipt, and an attendance record form will be issued by the secretariat.

The completed attendance record shall be returned to the HKCOS Secretariat after the meeting within 2 weeks.
7.
The meeting must be open to all fellows of the College. The organizer has the duty to notify fellows in the notices or propaganda and indicate the number and category (A/B/Rehab) CME/CPD point(s) awarded by the College.
   
8.
All meetings must be attended by a minimum of 4 fellows of the College who have duly signed in the attendance record. Failing this, no CME/CPD point will be awarded for the meeting.
9.
The College reserves the right to invalidate the previously approved CME/CPD point(s) if fellows failed to comply with the above procedures.
